The Arts Club is “the place to be” and we have a very busy venue spread on 3 operational floors: Brasserie, Members Bar and Nightclub.
We currently serve about 100 covers for lunch and 200+ for dinner and the floors are serviced by a 9-strong sommelier team (currently down to 7).
The positions available at the moment are:
• Sommelier: responsible for the floor service, based on a 7-shift per week rota (3 singles and 2 double shifts) with 2 days off and 28 days holiday package. £22-26k according to experience.
• Senior Sommelier: “Floor Manager” level of responsibility, supervising the sommelier team on the floor service, based on a 7-shift per week rota (3 singles and 2 double shifts), 2 days off and 28 days holiday package. £26-30k according to experience.
We have an incredible team which combines great expertise and experience, and we were until recently the only team since opening not to have any member leaving, which says something about how we work and take care of our staff. My 2 sommeliers who decided to leave are doing so as they were offered Assistant Head positions in two very respected and recognised 2-Michelin starred restaurants, and I have personally encouraged them to develop themselves and take the challenge.
The shifts are normally divided on: Lunch (10am-6pm); Dinner (5pm-1am); Double (a 12h shift: 10am-22pm; 11am-23pm; or 12pm-00am). We try to guarantee at least one weekend off per month and we are very flexible with Rota and holiday requests, as we try to be both fair and reasonable (at the same time expecting the same from our team).
Our wine list comprises of 450+ bins with literally some of the best examples and most exciting wines in the world, a great selection of classical (French and Italian focused) with a fair representation of the Wines of the World (think Israel and Brazil for the “odd ones out”). We are very proud to have a concise list that we sell ALL of it, rather than a large selection which we only part of it would move.
