National Restaurateurs Dinner Now in its 22nd year the AFW work in conjunction with the Restaurant Association & the Academy of Culinary Arts to organise this dinner.
It is the prime fundraising event for us all and it raises money for our Education and Training initiatives. The projects, benefiting all, aim to tackle the worst of the problems facing our industry today, namely those of skills shortages and training for young men and women looking for a career in our profession. Over the years the dinner has grown from a Restaurateurs’ get-together to a major gala dinner, which has generated in excess of half a million pounds towards these good causes.
This fundraiser helps us raise money for the continued Education and Training initiatives our three organisations run for the benefit of our industry as a whole.
NRD 2009 - Save the date for our summer dinner - July 16th 2009, The Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London
The National Restaurateur’s Dinner is the premier fundraising event and the one you really should attend. We know times are tough for everyone this year and that decisions about which fundraising events to support are being made very carefully. With the National Restaurateurs’ Dinner you are supporting not one, not two but three of the premier organisations in the hospitality industry. The Academy of Culinary Arts, the Academy of Food & Wine and the Restaurant Association.
In a bid to acknowledge the current economic situation we have also reduced the ticket price for the dinner to £125. For this you receive a champagne reception, a delicious 4 course meal, cooked by some of the industry’s top chefs, including Angela Hartnett, Jason Atherton, Rob Kirby (Lexington), Anthony Marshall (Hilton) Martyn Nail (Claridges), Andrew Bennett (Park Lane) and Graham Hornigiold (Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park) . Wines matched to every course by top Sommeliers in the UK Guild of Wine Service; Matt Wilkin (Princess Victoria), Xavier Rousset (Texture) and Claire Thevenot, entertainment and the opportunity to win several wonderful prizes.
This dinner is the main fundraising event for our three organisations and all proceeds go back into the industry via our education and training initiatives. The dinner allows you to witness first hand the recipients of some of our initiatives as the winners of the UK Sommelier of the Year 2008, Young Chef, Young Waiter 2008 and the Annual Awards of Excellence 2008 will all be in attendance, cooking or serving our guests.
The National Restaurateurs’ Dinner really is the best value, so if you’re trying to decide which event to attend, and can make it only one, please, we urge you to make it ours.
So, reach for your diary, save the date and download a booking form to reserve your seat/table at this premier fundraising event. |
