The Academy of Food and Wine Service runs a number of events throughout the year including competitions, industry dinners and masterclasses. The purpose of these events is for attendees to network with friends and peers in the industry but also to gain product knowledge from the various sponsors. Our events also help to achieve the AFWS’ mission statement to raise the profile of front-of-house service as a career choice.

Forthcoming Events For The AFWS
Top industry names, businesses and professionals are poised to gather for the 30th annual National Restaurateurs’ Dinner which will be held on 4th April 2017 at The Dorchester, with Early Bird Tickets now on sale.
The prestigious event offers the chance to win fantastic prizes and bid on spectacular auction lots while raising important funds for the industry. Funds raised are returned back to the hospitality industry to offer training and educational opportunities.
Previous years’ prizes have included artwork, private dinners, cooking classes, fine wines and luxury weekend holidays.
Over the years, funds from the dinner have gone on to help programmes such as the Annual Awards of Excellence, Master of Culinary Arts, Sommelier of The Year, Restaurant Manager of the Year, Young Chef Young Waiter and the Big Hospitality Conversation.
The event is also a unique opportunity for businesses and individuals to network with industry influencers and leaders. Guests include key opinion leaders, senior industry executives, decision makers, celebrities and top chefs.
